Planetarium and geology museum open house

Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø's John Deere Planetarium and Fryxell Geology Museum will be open to the public for an evening of stargazing and space shows. The planetarium, located at 820 38th Street, Rock Island, will be open from 8:30 p.m.

Roys Lecture: Chef Joseph Yoon, Edible Insect Ambassador

Chef Joseph Yoon, world-renowned chef and thought leader in entomophagy, or eating insects, will share the science of insects with the sustainability and health aspects of eating insects.

Guest lecture: 'The Crisis on the U.S. Southwestern Border'

Dr. Rene Rocha, political scientist from the University of Iowa, is a leading scholar of immigration politics and policy.

Student recital: Zander Ulam, percussion

Senior Zander Ulam, a music education major from Geneseo, Ill., will perform a percussion recital.

Student recital: George Behnke, piano

Senior George Behnke, a music music major from Davenport, Iowa, will perform a piano recital.

Student recital: Adele Shirkey, flute

Senior Adele Shirkey, a music education major from Schaumburg, Ill., will perform a flute recital.

Student composition recital: John Flannery

John Flannery will perform a composition recital. Flannery is a senior from Washington, Iowa, majoring in piano performance and music composition.

Presentation: 'The History of the Asian Studies Program at Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø'

Professor Emeritus of Geography Norm Moline, Ph.D., will present the Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Historical Society's spring program on April 17 at 7 p.m. in the college's newest building, the Peter J. Lindberg, M.D., Center for Health and Human Performance.
