Dr. Roald Tweet takes his audience back to "1841, the Year That Rock Island Began."  That's theme of this year's Frieze Lecture Series, a 19-year partnership between the Rock Island Public Library and Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø.

Applicants may self-report scores

Children's show, 'Just A Dream: The Green Play' this weekend

Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø will present a play for children: "Just A Dream: The Green Play," based on the book by Chris Van Allsburg, at 1:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1-2, in the Brunner Theatre Center. Van Allsburg is  best known for "Jumanji" and "The Polar Express."

The Figge Art Museum is partnering with Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø to present "Girls in Justice" and "Juvenile in Justice," a nationally acclaimed project by photographer Richard Ross. "Juvenile in Justice" will be at Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø's Teaching Museum of Art beginning March 9.

'A Green River' triumphs at college festival

Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø's production of "A Green River" got a standing ovation at the Kennedy Center's regional college theater festival, but students will have to wait until March to see if they will be invited to the national festival.

Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøÍ¶_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø's 2015 winter-term Symposium Day on the theme of Social Justice will be on Tuesday, January 20. Faculty, guest speakers and students will discuss race, sexual violence, social awareness and reconciliation.
