This commonplace ancient method of gender differentiation\, however\, proves to be both complex and flexible\, encompassing the differing worldviews of Pharaonic Egypt and Archaic Greece and revealing underlying societal ideals about the roles and status of men and women.Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Mary Ann Eaverly: Mary Ann Eaverly is Professor of Classics at the University of Florida\, where she has won several teaching awards. While earning her Ph.D. in Classical Art and Archaeology from the University of Michigan\, she was the Vanderpool Fellow at the American School of Classical Studies in Athens. In 2021\, Professor Eaverly was named a Luminary by Eos\, the scholarly society for Africana Receptions of Ancient Greece and Rome\, for her work in that area. Her most recent book\, which provides the material for her Fox Lecture\, is "Tan Men\, Pale Women: Color and Gender in Archaic Greece and Egypt."
