Erling '78 will offer a public talk\, "Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø's Belief in the Power of Young Adults."\n\nDr. Erling is professor of modern church history and global mission at United Lutheran Seminary in Gettysburg\, Pa. Her research interests include the history of American Lutheranism\, including the Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Synod\, immigrant histories and stories\, and ecumenism.\n\nDr. Erling&nbsp\;has written many articles and chapters in several books about contemporary Lutheranism\, ecumenism\, and mainline Protestantism. She co-authored with Mark Granquist\, "The Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Story\, Augsburg Fortress\," in 2008.\n\nHer visit is sponsored by Scandinavian Studies at Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø\, The Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Presidential Center for Faith and Learning\, and Å·ÖÞ±­ÍøͶ_Å·ÖÞ±­ÍâΧapp-Ͷע¹ÙÍø Campus Ministries.\n
