Eligibility
Health insurance is offered to those employees regularly scheduled to work at least 30-hours per week on either an academic or calendar year basis. Faculty members who teach 18 credit hours or more per year are considered full-time. New employees are eligible on the first of the month following their hire date.
Medical insurance benefit summary
This plan is administered by UMR - Choice Plus Network. Monthly premium cost for 2026 are as follows:
PPO Plan*
- Single coverage: $203.75 per month
- Employee +1: $540.75 per month
- Family: $710.75 per month
* Annual deductible is $2,000 for single and $4,000 for family coverage. Total out-of-pocket maximum is $4,000 for single or $8,000 for double or family.
High Deductible Health Plan (HSA Eligible)*
- Single coverage: $153.13
- Employee +1: $395.13
- Family: $520.13
* Annual deductible is $4,250 for single and $8,500 for family coverage. Total out-of-pocket maximum is equal to the deductible amount, $4,250 single or $8,500 double or family.
This per month cost is for full-time benefit eligible employees who are paid on a 12-month basis. Employees who are paid on a 10-month basis will have slightly higher per month costs with the annual contribution remaining the same regardless of pay schedule.
