QCSO Masterworks V: Postcards from Germany and Austria

No symphonic exploration would be complete without the German and Austrian masters. The swirling themes of Mozart¡¯s beaming overture to The Marriage of Figaro will lead us plunging into Beethoven¡¯s fiery and high-spirited Symphony No. 4. QCSO Concertmaster Naha Greenholtz solos in Mendelssohn¡¯s final orchestral work, the dramatic Violin Concerto. We close out the program in a spectacular display of orchestral brilliance with Hindemith¡¯s rhythmic and thrilling Symphonic Metamorphosis on Themes by Carl Maria von Weber.
